Grace Ferrell
- LEND Public Health Genetics Trainee
Grace Ferrell is a second-year graduate student in the Master of Science in Genetic Counseling program at the University of Pittsburgh School of Public Health, where she is also pursuing a certificate in Public Health Genetics. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Natural Sciences from the University of Pittsburgh, where she also minored in Social Work and obtained a certificate in the Conceptual Foundations of Medicine. In 2022, she volunteered with Special Olympics as an assistant bocce coach, where she developed meaningful relationships with athletes and a passion for supporting individuals with neurodevelopmental disabilities. This experience inspired her to become a LEND Medium Term Trainee, which deepened her understanding of disability issues and fueled her desire to improve care for children with disabilities and their families.
Building on her experiences, Grace is now a LEND Long Term Trainee, where she is eager to continue learning and developing the skills needed to grow as a leader who advocates for positive change. Moving forward, she is committed to combining her growing expertise in genetic counseling and public health genetics to make a meaningful impact on individuals with neurodevelopmental disabilities.
