Folakemi Sampson
- LEND Psychology Trainee
Folakemi Sampson is pursuing a doctorate in Counseling Psychology at Chatham University. She received her bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Washington & Jefferson College (2022) and a master’s degree in Psychology from Chatham University (2023). Throughout Folakemi’s education her clinical experience has spanned a broad range of client demographics and presenting concerns. Folakemi has honed her clinical interests by assisting with neurodevelopmental assessments with children and adults, and supporting new mothers coping with birth trauma via group therapy. Folakemi’s passion for neurodevelopmental disorders and maternal health motivated her to apply for the LEND Fellowship. She is particularly excited about the experiential learning component of LEND where students get to collaborate with the greater Pittsburgh community through CARES appointments and the Community Partners relationships. In the future, Folakemi hopes to obtain her certification in Perinatal Mental Health Counseling to support new mothers. As a practicing psychologist she plans to engage in counseling with the perinatal population and conduct assessments to support individuals with neurodevelopmental disorders.
