Anna Hilliard
- LEND Genetic Counseling Trainee
Anna Hilliard is a graduate student in the M.S. in Genetic Counseling program at the University of Pittsburgh. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology with a minor in psychology at Case Western Reserve University in 2022, following which she spent two years as a postbaccalaureate trainee at the National Institutes of Health performing research on science communication and genetic literacy.
Anna's desire to make a more direct impact through her work drew her to the genetic counseling profession, and later to LEND. She is especially interested in the interdisciplinary nature of the LEND program as well as the opportunity to learn directly from self- and family advocates. In the future, Anna hopes to utilize the knowledge and leadership skills learned through LEND to amplify disability advocacy in clinical spaces.
