LEND CARES Program

What is the LEND CARES Program?

CARES stands for Connection, Advocacy, Resources, Empowerment, Support

The CARES Program is affiliated with UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh (CHP) and the University of Pittsburgh. The LEND CARES Program connects families to resources, builds advocacy skills, empowers individuals/caregivers, and supports individuals with neurodevelopmental and related disabilities in our region.

The CARES Program provides free patient- and family-centered care to help children and young adults with neurodevelopmental and related disorders, and their families meet their goals. The CARES Program runs on Wednesday afternoons from October – April.  Visits consist of a virtual or in-person meeting between the family and the CARES team, a discussion of the goals for the visit, a resource report based on these goals, and follow-up visits as needed.
